Description

Our client is one of the most professional and forward thinking financial institutions in Canada located in Waterloo, ON.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and consulting support for large implementations
  • Lead all aspects of development delivered by in-house, Vendor and offshore Developers
  • Develop prototype solutions as proof-of-concept to assess solutions
  • Develop and modify application components across disparate platforms and technologies
  • Drive best practices (e.g. design, documentation, quality)
  • Integrate vendor solutions and interfaces for medium to highly complex situations
  • Provide technical expertise and support where required
  • Develop high level design documents
  • Provide off hours systems support as required

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in leading developer roles in a complex IS environment
  • Strong working knowledge with Cobol, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, SAS, TS
  • Strong skills in design, programming and testing in a mainframe and/or client server environment
  • Post-secondary degree in computer sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with a multi-platform, distributed environment
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience

Nice to have:

  • Working knowledge with .Net. Java, Delphi, Dialogue
